I don't have time to look at the links right now - will do so later - but I am pretty familiar with this. Note that the genesis for the 2006 law comes out of anti-free speech laws passed in the 80's by . . . . I hate to say it, the Torries under Thatcher. It is also the Torries that started gun control in the UK. The Tory version of conservativism is much more akin to our own left.
