There has been a lot of talk about Obama's firing of GM's CEO. Here is a reminder of recent Russian history.
"MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday strongly defended the takeover by state oil firm Rosneft of stricken oil major YUKOS' key production unit." December 23, 2004.
Mikhail Khodorkovsky was arrested and jailed when Putin decided to steal his company. He placed friends in charge of its operation, and today Putin is the richest man in Europe. How exactly were Obama's actions different? How will the new GM's CEO be selected and who will he swear an oath of loyalty to? How will other executives, whose companies borrowed from Obama, fare and who do they now fear the most?
This money that Obama used to buy himself chief execute power over all these businesses...he uses it as if it is already his.
My other thought about Putin and those who follow his footsteps - there was a time when Mussolini was the head honcho, and then he became someone's lapdog.
